Fisher House

Gound Floor Plan

First Floor Plan

Second Floor Plan

Roof Plan

My first whole 1:50 model is Fisher House by Louis Khan. Simple 2 cube house with complex window detail. As I say in the previous post, understand the plan is the first thing need to be done for model making. Anyway, so many things have been done for the model, at the same time, there are still so many detail I wanted to add for this model.

Window Detail for Fisher House

So hard to cut 3mm balsa wood.

Love the chair!!

Learned a good way to make curve, thanks.

1:50 model detail. There are so much thing we can put in. Remember: the most important thing for detail a model is to understand the drawing first. No one will like to make change during the modeling process.

Fisher House Site Plan

Tried to use different colour wood for the house

Leaned a smart way to cut the contour.
Site plan is very important for a building. It design the way that how the building gonna communicate with the surrounding environment. Fisher House is built on to the land which has a great communicate with the local nature.

3 Shapes Projects

Model 1: faces meet at the line on top.

Model 2, all faces meet at one point.

feel like I am modeling Opera House

Model 3: Line and points

Look at the shapes, and be creative!!
These models are about irregular shape. They are about process from the first model to the final model. My first model is about faces meet at one line. For the second one, the interaction about the faces will meet at one point. And my final processing model. It includes the line element as well as the point element.

Barcelona Pavilion

Find a good way to "lock" the position!!

My first 1:200 model, it took me very long time to finish. By making model, I also had some understand about the history about the building. It was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, was the German Pavilion for 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona, Spain. (kind of hoping, some buildings will be remembered like this from Shanghai Expo).

3 Houses Project

Updating from my 2 Houses Project with a structural frame house. What do you think for this? (little bit more work with much better effect!!!)
